Kes-shō · Founding sales role
Put beautiful glassware on the world's best tables.
Kes-shō makes hand-blown crystal for bars, restaurants and hotels that care about every detail. We're looking for one thoughtful, persistent salesperson to find those places, earn their trust, close the first order — and look after the relationship for years.
~20 minutes to start · no résumé required

A small company. A genuinely important role.
You won't be the seventh person in an established sales department. You'll be one of Kes-shō's first dedicated salespeople — working directly with the founders, helping decide which markets and customers we pursue, and building the relationships that determine what this company becomes. There will be support, systems and tools. There won't be someone standing over your shoulder telling you who to contact every morning. You'll need to think. This isn't a role where leads arrive neatly in your inbox — you help us build the market. In return, you own your accounts and earn uncapped commission whenever they buy.
Why one account is worth building
Glasses break, so good accounts re-order — quarter after quarter, for years. It's slow at the start and then it compounds: win the right venues once, and a single relationship keeps paying out.
What you'll sell
Kes-shō makes ultra-thin, lead-free crystal by hand. Our glasses are made for serious hospitality — cocktail bars, restaurants, hotels, wine programmes and distributors that don't want whatever was cheapest in a catalogue. Sold globally. Once you close an order, our team handles samples, freight and fulfilment — you never pack a box.

What the work actually looks like
You'll build and manage a pipeline of hospitality buyers around the world — researching the right venues, finding the person who actually makes the purchasing decision, and approaching them like a human being, not spraying generic AI emails across the internet.
- Identify bars, restaurants, hotel groups and distributors that fit Kes-shō
- Reach buyers by email, calls, LinkedIn and whatever channel fits
- Write personalised outreach that earns replies
- Understand what a customer needs before forcing a sale
- Arrange samples with our ops team, prepare quotes, and follow up consistently
- Handle objections, close orders, and earn repeat business
- Keep the CRM clean enough that everyone knows what's happening
- A few things you won't touch: shipping, warehouse ops, the website, product design or bookkeeping
Modest base. Serious upside.
Pay is simple: US$350–550 a month to start, plus 5–10% uncapped commission on everything you sell. A first order is around US$2,500 — that's US$125–250 to you. Find your feet and roughly US$5,000 a month in sales is realistic; after a year of relationships, US$10–20,000 a month in sales is doable, and it keeps recurring. This rewards patience and consistency, not quick wins.

What your first 90 days could look like
We'll agree specific activity and revenue targets together. The numbers matter — and we know relationships like these take time to build.
Days 1–30
Learn the collection and the customer, study existing accounts, and build your first qualified target list. Start outreach with the founder's support and test messages, markets and customer profiles.
Days 31–60
Develop a consistent outreach rhythm, open buyer conversations, coordinate your first samples, and build a pipeline that can be measured.
Days 61–90
Close your first accounts, learn which markets respond best, and shape a repeatable sales process you and Kes-shō can build on.
Is this you?
You may be right for this if…
- You're dependable — if you say you'll follow up Tuesday, you follow up Tuesday
- You write clearly and speak confidently in English — with owners, beverage directors and buyers
- You don't collapse when someone says no — or, more often, doesn't reply at all
- You're curious about restaurants, bars, design, wine or premium products
- You use AI to research and move faster without sounding like a robot
- You communicate proactively — nobody should have to chase you
This probably isn't for you if…
- You need a high fixed salary immediately
- You prefer warm leads handed to you over finding opportunities yourself
- You send the same message to hundreds of people and call it sales
- You dislike follow-up, or need daily supervision to keep moving
- You want a quick commission hit, not a book of accounts you build over time
We give you the tools. You bring the willingness to try.
Kes-shō is an AI-forward company and we invest in the right tools — you'll have what you need to research buyers, personalise outreach and move faster. But tools don't make a salesperson. More than experience, more than a polished CV, we want someone willing to learn and to fail, and to try again. If we had to name the single most important quality, it's simply the ability to try. So don't count yourself out.
From a co-founder

I've spent most of my adult life building and working in hospitality. Glassware is one of those things people barely notice until it's wrong — too heavy, too generic, designed for a showroom rather than the person holding it. Kes-shō came from wanting to make glasses that good bars and restaurants would choose deliberately. We're still small. You won't be joining a polished multinational with six layers of management and a ready-made sales machine. Some things will be messy; some will need to be invented. But you'll have a product worth caring about, direct access to the people making decisions, and the chance to build something that becomes partly yours. I'm looking for someone who wants that responsibility.
